Physical Security Controls
Maintain strict control over the physical environment in which terminals are operated.
Install terminals in locations monitored by CCTV or under active physical surveillance whenever possible.
Allow only trusted, authorized personnel to install, maintain, and service terminals.
Verify the identity of a technician before granting access to the terminal.
Conduct daily inspections of terminals to detect signs of tampering, such as:
Scratches or unusual marks
Loose or unfamiliar parts
Extra or unrecognized cables
When not in use, store terminals in a secure and monitored area.
Use physical seals or locking mechanisms to prevent unauthorized removal or substitution of terminals.
